AI Kills Rating is our own estimate of how strong each robot plays. It is not an official chess, FIDE, chess.com or Lichess rating.
Vince Stone is an alternate machine opponent who is not quite as good as Reaper Robot at every level except Easy, where they play the same. His games keep separate records, and only wins against Reaper Robot unlock new levels.
We played the robots against each other (114 games, colors alternating, varied openings) to measure the gaps between levels. We also played them against Stockfish at limited strength to set the overall height. Each level beats the one below it, and the biggest jump is from Expert to RR Junior.
On the usual online scales, about 800–1,200 is a typical casual player and 1,200–1,500 a typical club player. Around 1,800 is a strong club player, better than most people who play regularly. Masters are 2,200+ and grandmasters 2,500+, and the robots are not at that level.
These are estimates with real uncertainty, especially for the top two levels, and a robot's strength varies from position to position. Your own results against the robots are the best guide. Master and Grandmaster levels are planned for later.
Only signed-in account games count. Human matches require two different signed-in accounts. Same-device games never submit results. Draws are recorded separately.
