Hallowed Veins: The Indian Ocean Hauntings

Sonar reveals that the glowing fractures form an enormous branching network beneath the seafloor—the Hallowed Veins. The first dives are beautiful. Orange bioluminescent fish swim through tropical reefs. Strange jellyfish glow like floating jack-o'-lanterns. Then the Submariner discovers something biologically impossible: pumpkins growing underwater. They aren't ordinary pumpkins. They grow from black coral-like vines rooted directly into volcanic rock. Their interiors produce orange light without detectable heat. Some have natural openings resembling faces. And some turn to watch the submarine. With every level, Halloween stops being an aesthetic and starts becoming an ecosystem.

Hallowed Veins: The Indian Ocean Hauntings
Hallowed Veins sends the Submariner into a remote stretch of the Indian Ocean where an unusual chain of hydrothermal fractures has begun producing intense orange light. At first, the crew assumes the glow comes from volcanic activity. Indian Ocean ridges really do contain hydrothermal systems and unusual deep-sea communities, including vent shrimp, mussels and the remarkable armored scaly-foot snail—giving us a real biological foundation before the voyage becomes completely supernatural.
